Abstract
ABSTRACT
Improving the nutritional status of hemodialysis patients prevents malnutrition and hyperphosphatemia, which affect hemodialysis adequacy and are predictors of morbidity and mortality in hemodialysis patients. This study aimed to analyze the influence of egg white supplementation on hemodialysis adequacy and the nutritional status of hemodialysis patients. The study employed a quasi-experimental pre-post-test with a control group design. Subjects were divided into two groups; the control group received education, while the intervention group received education and egg white supplementation of ±168 grams three times a week for two months. Energy and protein intake were controlled using the SQFFQ. Measurements of muscle mass, albumin, phosphorus, and adequacy (Kt/V) were conducted before and after the study. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 24.0. There were significant differences in albumin and muscle mass before and after treatment in both groups (p<0,05). There was a significant difference in Kt/V before and after treatment in the intervention (p=0,04) group but not in the control group. Albumin and muscle mass increased after treatment but remained within normal levels. Egg white supplementation of ±168 grams three times a week is beneficial in preventing malnutrition in dialysis patients.

Subjek dibagi 2 kelompok yaitu kelompok kontrol mendapat edukasi sesuai kebutuhan gizi sedang kelompok intervensi mendapat edukasi dan putih telur sejumlah ± 168 gr frekuensi 3x/minggu selama 2 bulan.
Pemberian putih telur sejumlah ±168 g 3x/ minggu bermanfaat mencegah malnutrisi pasien hemodialisis.
